About Our Business
Green Kids Inc. is a live-theatre company dedicated to environmental education through performance. Our mission is to educate children, teachers and families on environmental issues and inspire them to take positive action towards protecting our environment. We tour productions and workshops to schools and public events, and offer mentorship to schools creating their own Green Kids performances.
In the last 30 years, Green Kids has performed for over 1.4 million students from over 1,600 schools across Canada. Green Kids was established in 1991 to address the need for engaging, educational programming for school-aged children about the importance of environmental stewardship. Green Kids' productions have tackled such issues as habitat preservation, waste reduction, wildlife conservation, sustainable daily habits, organic gardening, agriculture, and our world's water supply. Through a short piece of live theatre or a classroom drama workshop based on an environmental science theme, we allow participants a space to imagine, empathize and laugh, all while understanding the serious issues we face.
